Good morning everyone,

Don’t get too excited but the forecast shows showers for Sunday! We haven’t been to Felbrigg for a time so I thought we could have a partly wooded walk starting from the dog walkers car park at Sexton’s Lodge. Go down the Byway to Sustead, turn off the A148 just after Aylmerton ( The Lion’s Mouth ) take care as the lane is narrow and a bit windy then Sextons Lodge is on your left, turn in and the car park is off to your right. From there we can walk to the lake then up to the woodland belt and the Marble Hill lodges and back to the main car park. There we can decide whether it’s a coffee and return to the cars via the main drive or strike off up the Victory V and return via the ice house to Sexton’s Lodge. Please bring your membership cards if you have them as they can be scanned in the main car park.

Meet at Sexton’s Lodge car park at 11.30am. We won’t have had too much rain so it should be fairly good underfoot – the first part can be muddy in really wet weather. Wet weather gear may be required but things can change – please check the weather report before you come.

Walking Sunday approaches yet again. It looks as if it might be another hot week and Sunday, while marginally cooler, still looks sunny so I thought a shorter walk with some woods might be a good idea. I thought we could do the Stody estate walk starting from Hunworth Village Hall. I’m sorry there is no coffee stop but do bring water and a sun hat for the walk. Wading through the ford on the Glaven could be an option (not as deep as at Glandford !!!!) Meet in the Village Hall car park at 11.30 for an amble around fields, through woods and along farm tracks

Walking Sunday approaches with a promising weather forecast after a mixed week! The parking spot is St Peter’s Church, North Barningham which is signposted off the road to Matlaske. The address is Plum Lane, North Barningham NR11 7LB and has an entry on the website: exploringnorfolkchurches.org with a google map and directions. The walk will be approx. 4 miles crossing the fields to and from Bessingham.

Meet at 11.30 as usual – sorry no handy coffee stop. We are hoping there may be orchids on the way but it has been very dry.

I hope you are having a good Bank Holiday Monday!

Next Sunday I thought we would have a walk from Baconsthorpe Castle which would be an opportunity to look at the progress of the restoration. The full adress is Castle Lane, Holt NR25 6LN. We will walk south from there on a mixture of farm tracks and quiet lanes towards Plumstead then turning north again, at the eco-house Ralphs, to return to the castle via Baconsthorpe village. Meet at the castle at 11.30 – the weather forecast is a bit mixed with sunshine and showers but do check nearer the time to decide on what to wear – we shouldn’t meet much mud! ( Famous last words – I hear you say!)

Good morning evryone

I hope you are enjoying this lovely sunny Easter. I’m afraid that the weather does not look as if it will hold until Sunday but we will be hunting bluebells in woodland at Blickling. Please meet in the Woodgate car park on the northern side of the Blickling Estate as we did last year. Go through the village of Itteringham Common and the car park is on your right where the road does a sharp left turn. I’m afraid there is the usual NT charge for this park – remember your card if you have one. if you are not sure the Blickling website has an estate map which shows it clearly.

Good afternnon, everyone,

The forecast is looking good this Sunday so fingers crossed for sunshine and primroses!

Lorraine is taking us to explore somewhere new this week starting from Brinton on the eastern side of Thornage.  Travelling along the Holt by-pass go straight on at the second roundabout towards Dereham.  Go through the village of Thornage, the road winds a bit so take care, then look for the next signpost for a right-hand turn  to Brinton.  Follow this road into the village and park at the side of the road along the church wall on your left.

The post code for St Andrews Brinton is NR24 2QF.  A lot of the walk is on lanes and farm tracks but Lorraine has done a recce for us and has said there are some muddy patches but hopefully not as bad as Itteringham!, the dry weather this week should dry it out – and she saw primroses on the way!  The walk is approx 4 miles long.

Good morning walkers,

I’m afraid we are in for a grey and drizzly walking day on Sunday but hopefully we will find snowdrops! We will do the same snowdrop walk as last year starting from Itteringham Village Hall ( Bure Valley Community Centre NR11 7AX). We will start from the walkers car park just beyond the Hall at 11.30am and take footpaths and farm tracks towards Mannington Hall. At the Hall we will divert into the grounds of the old Chapel to find the snowdrops then return over the fields to Itteringham where there will be an opportunity for coffee at the village shop. A walk of about four and a half miles. It might be muddy and/or slippy underfoot in places so please come prepared – it is not goig to be very warm, either!

Good morning walkers,

Our last walk of 2025 is nearly here. I thought we would do a familiar walk with a coffee stop at the end. The weather forecast is for drizzle but improving into the afternoon.

Starting from the Glaven Barns at Glandford (NR25 7JP, Cley Spy) we will complete the walk on the west of the Bayfield estate finishing at the Glaven Bistro for a coffee on our return. The walk is just under four miles with some uphill parts and it may be a bit muddy underfoot on our return along the riverside to the ford at Glandford.

The start will be 11.30am as usual in the car park. Please let me know if you can come.

Walkers Lunch at the Dales Hotel on Jauary 11th followinga walk in Sheringham Park. Please let me know if you would like to come and haven’t done so already. Please make your choices and let me have them as soon as possible – I have attached another copy of the menu to this message – let me know if you cannot open it. I will bring a hard copy with me on Sunday.

Meet up for the usual 11.30 start at Sperberry House (NR25 7SA) with parking in the drive.  The Coastal Hopper stops right outside the house, if anyone wants to take the bus.

Walk east along the Coastal Path and then cross the Coast Road to head South, up and along the footpath towards the Holt Road.  A short traverse to rejoin the path heading North, down The Hangs, after a group photo opportunity.  Turn east before Snipes Marsh and follow the path to cross back over the Coast Road to find the Attenborough Walk, and head back West to Sperberry for refreshments.  The walk is a little over 4 miles.

The weather forecast for Sunday morning looks good but there is the chance of rain later in the day.  This Sunday I thougt we could meet at Itterningham Village Hall ( Bure Valley Community Centre) and walk through the village towards Wolterton Park then turn at White House Farm to follow the footpath along the river Bure and return to the villge via Manor Farm. The walk is about 4 miles and we could have coffee at the village shop on our return.

I’m afraid i am still not driving due to my damaged shoulder so is there someone who could give me a lift on Sunday ? – sorry to impose yet again.  Meet at 11.30 am as usual.
