• Walking Sunday 8th September

    Good morning evryone

Walking Sunday is upon us rather quickly this month! I thought we would walk from Baconsthorpe Castle this Sunday. Conservation work is well under way at the castle but part of the car park is still in use and there should be enough room for us. Leaving the castle we will walk towards Hole Farm then follow the Plumstead Road to pick up harp lane to return via Plumstaed Hall Farm back to Baconsthorpe by the church. About 5 miles in all. The weather looks fine but not too hot. No coffee stops this time I’m afraid!

Meet you at the Castle at 11.30 – as usual look out for potholes on the approach road.

See you there – please let me know if you can come.

  • Walking Sunday 11th August

    Hello everyone,

The weather looks fine for Sunday so I thought we would walk around Itteringham again starting from the Bure Valley Community Centre – Village Hall. Please use the walker’s car park beyond the hall and please bring a contribution for hall funds. From there we can walk up to Strawberry Lane then return via Mossymere Wood to the Keepers House and the front of Mannington Hall. After all this dry weather it should be dry underfoot through any boggy parts!

See you there at 11.30am as usual. Please let me know if you can come.

  • Walking Sunday 9th June

    Hi everyone,
As Julia is on holiday for the next Beckham walk on the 9th June, Martyn and I have organised one. The walk will start at the pay and display car park in Paul’s lane Overstrand at 11.30. It will be about 41/2 miles long taking us to Northrepps and back through fields and woodland. A pretty, walk but muddy in parts so walking boots or wellies will be required.
If anyone wants to join us Martyn and I we will have coffee at the cliff top cafe at 11am before meeting in the car park. We also have space in our car 2 if anyone wants a lift.
    Hope you can make it
    Ann

  • Walking Sunday 12 May

    Good afternoon, everyone

Walking Sunday is approaching with an excellent weather forecast – I hope I don’t tempt fate by saying that it looks as if suncream and hats might be needed! I thought we could go to Cley and walk out to the sea, then along the shingle towards Salthouse, and turn south to the Walsey Hills by Snipes Marsh. Following the line of the original cliff toward Salthouse we can drop down and walk towards Cley along the Attenborough path. The walk is about 5.3 miles.

Meet you in the car park at Cley Village Hall (NR25 7RJ) at 11.30 am on Sunday12th May – there is an honesty box for a donation to the upkeep of the hall – and a toilet!

Please let me know if you can come.

    Julia

PS . Advance warning for the June walk on the 9th. I shall be in Swansea so could we have a volunteer to lead for that day? Thanks.
