Draft Minutes of East and West Beckham Parish Council

 Meeting Held on Thursday 22nd September 2022

Present. Cllr. R. McNeil Wilson, (chairman),G. Place,  D. Barrass,  J. Dovey,  K. Lord,  

            J.Stibbons(clerk)

The chairman opened the meeting at 7.00pm. 

1. Apologies Cllrs. R. Batt, T.Toyne.       County Cllr. E. Vardy.

2. There were no Declarations of Interest.  

3.   There wee no comments or questions from members of the public.

 

4.   The minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 14th July 2022 having been previously circulated, it was proposed by Cllr. Lord that they be confirmed as an accurate record of the meeting. This was seconded by Cllr. Dovey and approved by the members.

The chairman then signed the minutes

5.    There were no matters arising from the Minutes.    

6.    There were no reports from County, District or Parish Councillors

7.  Playing Field  The climbing frame has been removed The concrete bases and rubbermettingg have been left in place.

The old seat has been removed and a new one installed in its place.

Any useful materials have been left in the shed.  

A back chain for the swing would cost £420. It was agreed not to add safety chains as the RoSPA inspection comments were purely advisory.  

The chains on the three line swing are satisfactory but the shackles are rusty although this is merely cosmetic and do not need replacing. 

The Kick Board is rotten at the top. It was decided to cut the top section off as the remaining board could still be used as a gickk board. 

The gate will need repair or removal due to its condition but. Consideration for new gates would be considered with other improvements when the ownership of the site is finalised. 

The new solicitor representing the interests of the parish council is Mr. Andrew Davies

8. Road Safety.   An offer was received from Bodham parish council for the occasional use of their SAM2 traffic speed monitor for use on either Sheringham Road or Church Road.

The councillors agreed that the SAM2 could be useful but more details on costs, location etc. were needed before a decision could be made.

9. Bus Shelter.  There were concerns about fly-tipping in the bus shelter and also in the

lay-by opposite the park in Sheringham Road. A careful watch will be kept.

10. Financial matters.

 Bank Balances at 22/9/2022 Current a/c £5445.56 Savings a/c £30380.38

There were no outstanding invoice.

11. Correspondence.    

A letter of thanks from Mr and Mrs. Wilson for the flowers on the sad loss of their daughter.

NNDC advising that the next parish council elections will be held on 4th May 2023.

12. Matters for information only or the next agenda.

It was agreed to publish the Bulletin later in the year.

Allotments are to be discussed at the next meeting.

 There being no further business the chairmen closed the meeting at 8.35pm
